Man am I an idiot or what, I just don't understand... I'm not changing anything electronic at all, just the maf housing. If Im using the same sensor, why would the car choose to run differently at all? It like changing a filter from paper to the mesh, there should be no changes in the computer at all...

The actual black sensor is stock, calibrated for 24# injectors. The housing im not sure, its stock. The housing I replace the stock housing with is a 76mm C&L using the same electronic sensor.

ok are you sure you have the right sample tube in it? some people put the same sample tube in the 73 and 76 but they are different and will cause the problem your having. I just put a 76 on my wifes ride works great even in the stock postion..are you puting everything on right? did you unhook the battery for a few mins to reset?..are you using 24# injectors?

I noticed the sample tube is bigger in diameter... does that screw up the sensors reading? If so thats my problem right there. I did not reset the computer and yes I am using 24# injectors... Is there a way to reset the computer for the bigger sampling tube? Thats probably what I need to do...

I swapped out my stock MAF with an 76mm MAF this afternoon
Which is it? A 76mm or an 80mm? Plus, just thought I would ask, not meaning anything bad by it, but did you put the sampling tube in backwards? You need to make sure the sampling tube you have is EXACTLY matched with the injectors you have in it. There is NO NEED to recalibrate the comp. If you want to reset it, make sure you disconnect your negative battery cable.

The sampling tubes were never touched. But the 76mm C&L has a bigger sampling tube than the stock one and the stock sampling tube is not removable. So, I think the bigger sampling tube on the 76mm C&L will not work on the stock set up EVEN THOUGH the 94 cobra came stock with 24# injectors (I have no cluw why it will not work though...)

BTW, the C&L came right off an 88gt with 24# injectors and work flawlessly which is just another tidbit that makes me wonder a)why these smapling tubes are different in size even though they are both for 24# injectors and b)why the 76mm C&L sampling tube wont work...
