Carb issues...

RE: Carb issues...
Jets don't come into play when idling. Only the idle mix screws, when you hit the gas the transition slots give it a little gas until the air blows past the jets. Of course the accel pumps also make up the lag between opening the flies until the air can pick up gas from the jets.
But, since there are two power valves, the base gasket is not blocking the orifices where the power valves recieve the vacuum signal right?

Joel, thanks for the link, I was looking on there last night.
I'll mess with it tonight and see what I can figure out.

Alright, I adjusted the secondary throttle blade. It now appears ( from the top ) that it is completely under the transition slot. I re-set the idle speed ( primary throttle blade position ) and tried the air mix screws. Now when I turn them in the engine speeds up. I thought it was supposed to die when you turn them in?
Another question/opinion..
When I rebuilt it I put a power valve in the rear. From the factory BG says it's plugged. Maybe I should plug it and see what happens?
Typically when you remove the power valve you jet up 4 or 5 sizes. I have 74 and 78 jets now, from BG they are 71 and 79. Thoughts?
