Default 3.73 or 4.10 ?

I bought my car with 4.10 gears. I was wondering if 3.73 would be better, i hear alot that 3.73 is better for 5spd and that 4.10 for auto. I'm thinkin that it would give me just a tad bit better gas mileage too.

What are your mods. 4.10 is high for a stock Stang. 3.73 would be better for stock. Good launch and high end.

I think a 4.10 in 5th gear vs 3.73 in 5th is like 200 rpm's (or close) difference.

If you already have 4.10's id just keep them for a while and see if you like it or hate it.

Oh well then I donno its really upto you. There are people who say "omg 3.73's suck my 4.10's rock it pulls so awsome" then other people go "omg 4.10s take away 2-3 mpg over 3.73's get 3.73's!"

Really in my honest opinion, if you comute to work a good distance on the freeway/highway 3.73's would save some gas. If you don't drive far to work or on city streets 35-45 mph go with the 4.10's

Or if you dont care about 2-3 MPG just go with the 4.10's just make sure if you do go with 4.10's you get a good exhaust cause if you get junk h pipe/cat back the drone from the mufflers will make you wish your head would explode from going 70 mph+ for any long period of time.

Personally I like the 4.10's cause when I get on it, it pulls like a mother. 3.73's are still good, really just depends what you are lookin for. Or you can do 4.10's untill you get 300+ RWHP and goto 3.73's.

Just my .02

As a side note, I just replaced my 2.73s with 3.55s, and my gas mileage--highway and city--has improved dramatically. Go figure.
