Well I did as explained above, I pulled out my speedo gear within the tranny, and it was broke in half... So I am gonna order one, and hopefully that will fix this problem once and for all! Any ideas how or why this gear would have broke?

Well Well... I have replaced the speedo gear, and my mileage gauge is functioning again, but my speedo moves up and pegs out well past 140 mph even if I never go over 20 mph and never comes back down. It stays there at all times. It does come down if I am in reverse, but thats it. Is this the speedometer gauge or could it have to do with the speedo sending unit that the speedo gear mounts to? Any thoughts would be great, I am sick of spending money on this problem.

IF the milage is working but not the speed part then it would have to be in the speedo head.

Anyone know where I can get a speedo any cheaper than $160 from 50resto?
