Need new clutch baaaaaddd.
My clutch is spent, and i just bought a spec stage 2. Should i spend the 250 dollars to get it installed, or do it myself. I've never installed a clutch before. So I dont know what kind of troubles are ahead. Any advice?

I would do it myself. It's not THAT difficult, but it'll be easier w/ a friend. You'll also want a new pilot bearing (~$10-12 from auto parts store). Haynes walks you thru it pretty well...that's what I used.

do it yourself i know it seems like alot but its really not that hard, but like funk said youll probably need someone else to help you hold the tranny while u unbolt it onto the jack and maybe get it out from under the car plus youll have someone to talk to and 250 dollars in your pocket.

OMG lets not start the chatter ****. its no biggie to put a clutch in. trans comes out in 25min or so. for the first timer it will be about a 2-3 hour job. they worst part will be taking the piolt bearing out of the crank.

Find a socket that fits the hole in the center as tightly as possible. Wrap a little electrical tape around it to make it a tight fit. Pack the hole full of grease and put the socket (on an extension, of course) in the hole. Use a hammer to drive it in, pushing out the pilot bearing.

i guess whats going to confuse me the most, is the clutch release lever, and the quadrant cable. I want to do this to save me money, but i dont want to tear everything apart, and realize its going to be more of a hassle. The chilton manual I have even confuses me. Will it be a lot easier to understand, once i get under there and take the trans out.
