Default weight ?

Hey guys i was just wondering what the approximate weight for a 88 Gt 5 sp. was. Also how much does the stock hood weigh because im getting a fiberglass hood and i wanna know roughly how much weight im cutting. Also is there anything i can do to reduce weight while keeping my a/c and being able to pass emissions. Any help would be great.

3,100-3,200lbs without driver.

To loose weight; many options.....
Remove front inner bumper support & mounts;20lbs(don't hit anybody tho.....)
front swaybar & end links;20lbs+(don't go around corners too fast no more.....)
relocate battery to rear(31lbs of weight off the nose).
15x3.5" Superlite or Rodlite front wheels with 156r15 tires;35lbs+ off the nose....
Manual steering rack;20+lbs
fiberglass hood; 5lbs average(stock hood not nearly as heavy as you might think).
remove the GT fog light bar, mounts, & foglights;15-20lbs
'94 up gear reduction starter; 5lbs

To reduce weight you can do everything above but I wouldnt recommend taking out your bumper supports. If you ever got hit or hit someone your car would be FINISHED! You can also lose alot of weight going with a full tubular suspension. From what D&D has on their website w/ their front drag kit you can reduce 140lbs off of the front end. Also, if you want to get real serious you can put a lexan hatch glass in... that would shed a significant amount of weight. Also, if you have GT seats you can swap them for LX seats. They are not as comfortable and supportive but they weigh less. You can also remove power steering which will shed some.
