Well everytime I take a look at one I have a mental checklist. The top 3 being, 1)Motor mounts 2)For oil under car 3)What the oil look like on dipstick, aswell as tranny.
So I would definately look at those. Timing would be a good thing to check as well, since I just checked mine, and being gas prices are so high, I bumped it up from 8 to 10. It's really not how to check everything, it is what to check for. Also is it a T5 or AOD?
