Default Igition overheating???stalls???

I have a 92gt with a MSD ignition system. This is not a daily driver, but all of a sudden when i drive the car for about 10-15 minutes and come to a stop, it will idle down and just shut off on me........and won't start until i let it cool for about 15mins......and then it happened to me again after getting it started while i was driving. The car shut off on the road and i had to pull it off the road to the grass to let it cool down. Does anyone know what may cause this. I figured it was the MSD system, cause it heats up a lot when driving unless that is normal...........any advice????

Is it an MSD Distributor? Cause I bought one brand new and it did exactly that. Start up, run great, warm up and shut off until it was cool again. Ended up having to send the dizzy back. Thought it was the control module (the little box on the front of the dizzy with the plugin) but I had a couple of em and none worked so that narrowed it down to the distributor.

Yeah it is a MSD distributor, and it was heating up like crazy, extremely hot when i popped the hood. I have had it on the car for about 2 years with no problems until now, and it was all of a sudden. So the control module is plugged into the MSD distributor? So did you contact MSD directly to send it back and get a new one, or did you just go buy a new one........thanks ..i have a 92 gt
