Default Lifter Noise

Howdy all!! Anybody have any ideas on this small problem im having?Ok here it goes, Well i bought a new Upper and lower intake aka Typhoon and a new throttle body and EGR also i picked me up a set of GT40P heads off Ebay ! Well the heads came with 600#pound Springs and the rest look very stock! Very clean heads only the Valves had some minor stuff on them well i cleaned them up,NO Porting! Well My problem is this i had no lifter Noise or any sounds until this combo was put on! We narrowed it down to #8 Lifter after we removed the rockers and pushrods from the car as it was running the Noise went away except minor tapping! Has anyone ever herd off a lifter going bad with out collapsing? We pulled it out and looked at them and they was good !Just Number 8 makes the Noise. So can i just replace 1 side of roller lifetrs ? meaning 5-8? I dont have enough cash for all 8 ! Or should i just replace the bad 1?They are getting oil . Well the car didnt make any noise before just seems odd it would just go bad ,unless it was on its way out . Any suggestions or ideas would be awsome Thanks very much Stinger--->

600 lb springs? you gotta be kidding, right! that kind of spring pressure will wear out the cam in no time! no wonder it's making a noise if that pressure is for real.

Yea that is what the guy said the springs are rated at? Do you think this would cause the lifter noise? I replaced all the lifters and i still have same type of noise in #8 area , not as loud though. Im not using roller rockers though ! Im using stock rocker arms . Maybe i can put stock springs on , think that would save the cam? Thanks for advice any and all is very helpful ! Stinger--->

my racing friend with a 533 ci big block with cobra jet heads only runs 300 pound springs on a full roller cam with .700+ lift and roller rockers with a stud girdle. I've never heard of 600 lb valve springs, sounds like someone is bull ****ting you big time. try some stock springs and see what this does for you.

he might meant 600 lift springs..still a very heavy spring for some old lifter..if the spring have shims then removing them will be the ticket and you can do this on the car..
