Default Want to fit 275/40/17

Well i was looking underneath my stang today and my 245/45/17 nittos just clear the rear quad shocks, I dont no how you guy are running 255's or 275's but i want to run 275's.
My question is what should i do remove the rear quad shocks? If so what disadvantage does this serve..I want to fit these dam tires on

i think 245/17's is about as big as you can go w/ 17 inch wheels on a fox

all depends on the backspacing of the wheels. but if you want 275's you will have to take out the quads.. and possibly roll the fender. best way to roll the fender is with a baseball bat. put the bat on the top of the tire where the back bumper starts pointed upward towards the inside of the fender, and have someone move the car forward and backwards veryy slowly. do this over and over until it is enough.. and make sure ot get some spary paint to cover the parks you left!

I have 275/40/17s on my fox with a 9in wide wheel. Wheel Backspacing: 5.85", Wheel Offset: +24mm, this is after a five lug conversion, but I have the axles to keep the same Fox body track width in the rear. did have to remove the quads though.

275/40's will wit fine in the back of your fox. I had them on my 88 Gt Cov. with no problems. But will need to reverse the quad shocks. Ive since switched to 17x10.5 bullits with 315/35's on the back. It took a little work but they will fit. And I must say it looks awsome!

Would i be able to fit the 275's on my 17x9 cobra r rims 24mm offset?

Also what are the disadvantages of removing the quad shocks?

Yes the 275's will fit just fine on your 17x9s. The quad shocks help keep the rear end(axel) positively positioned under the car. If you were to put on a panhard bar ect. then you wouldnt need the quads anymore.
