Default Changing Speedometer Gauge Question/Help

Basically here is what is going on.

I just bought an 88 fox body mustang, gt hatchback. It had a basically, non functioning instrument cluster. The only things that worked were the tach and speedometer. So, I bought an instrument cluster off ebay. I installed that entire cluster and it appears that everything is working correctly, except the speedometer.

My question is, is there anyway to switch the speedometer gauge from the first cluster and install it in the second cluster. And by switch I mean just the gauge, not the face as well. (The first cluster had white face gauges, the second has traditional black with white number faced gauges.) I took the cluster apart and looked at the gauge and can't figure out to safely uninstall the needle from the gauge so that I could put it on the other cluster's face.

Basically I am looking for some help on the swapping of the gauge.

(On a side note, does anyone know if an instrument cluster out of an 88 4 cylinder would work in an 88 gt? or would the tach and other gauges be off?)
