Default EBrake light

I have a '90 5.0HO LX Convertible 4 spd Automatic, w/ minor mods, MAC CAI, BBK Headers, BBK H Pipe, Magnaflow Cat back, MSD Ignition, when i accelerate hard, my e-brake light luminates in the dash panel until i hit 65-70 and then it goes off on its own. I've checked the cable and handle, both are free moving and work properly, any ideas on a fix to this? I've tried dissconnecting the battery to no luck.

How's the brake fluid level in the pump reservoir?.... if it's low the level switch will cause the brake indicator to light on...specially under hard acceleration. You might also want to check the pressure switch at the proportional valve underneath the master pump. My 2¢.

Thanks, i'll have to check the fluid level, is it possible for the fluid to be old and no good the car is in need of all new brakes the current brakes are very old. What do i have to do to check the pressure switch? any links to how to's?

If they are that old, a flush of the old brake fluid is recommended...simply replace pads/shoes, remove old fluid from master, top it with new fluid and follow the bleeding procedure until new brake fluid comes out of each wheel. Regarding the pressure switch, just make sure the wire is not shorting out to the frame or lines, to check if it may be the cause, disconnect it and check if the brake indicator comes on while driving (after ruling out the level switch possibility).

PS: Even if the level is ok at the master, the level switch may be intermittent, disconnect it and check if the brake indicator turns on.
