it IS possible to install the bypass valve in the wrong direction and have it not work right. you need to make sure that the valve is oriented properly

Ya but if you are cruzing on the freeway at 3000 rmp the vehicle is under vacuum, so when you floor it there is a delay for the vacuum to go away the valve to close and the vehicle to boost up.. or am I just being crazy?

Uh yeah a few things... bypass valves won't delay unless they are messed up or leaking or dirty (and sticking).
The stress to the drivetrain comes with the big power. Some charger systems work differently than others.
Make sure the vac line to the bypass valve is set up right. Try to keep it short and on it's own tap to the manifold.
