74 intake manifold on a 95?
My girlfriends step father asked me a ford motor question the other day, I didn't know the answer, but told him I could probably find out.
He has a 95 302, fuel injected. He wants to move to carburation, and just so happens to have a 74 intake manifold. He asked me if he would be able to rip all the fuel injection out, throw the 74 intake manifold on the 95 motor, and run carburation.
So essentially, is a 74 intake manifold compatible with a 95?

RE: 74 intake manifold on a 95?
If it's from a 302 block, then yes. But he'll need to fabricate some sort of linkage from the accellerator to the throttle plate on the carb. He might want to think about a slightly higher performing intake also... I'm pretty sure anything in the mid to late seventies to early 80's will just cost him power. He'll have to get an adjustable FPR and possibly do some fuel line work also.

You will need a different sending unit in your tank or get a fuel pressure regulator to cut the pressure down enough to the carb. the 74 intakes were not all that great flowing to begin with and thats when they started to get choked down with the emissions and other nonsense and they are steel last i knew? If you were to change to carb id say get a new 4bbl intake from edelbrock or whatnot and start with a good flowing intake instead of a stocker. Is it a 4 bbl or 2bbl? i dont remember ford making many 4 bbl intakes in the mid 70s. alsoyour computer is gonna be jumping around and check engine lights will be on untill you get that cleared up. What is wrong with the injection that makes him want to swap to carb?
