What kind of fliud should I use on a T5 transmission. I just bought a WC T5 and I dont know what kind of fluid I should use for it. Chilton's says
- All 4-speed and 5-speed manual transmissions except for the T5OD - SAE 85W/90 gear oil.
- T5OD 5-speed - Dexron II or Mercon ATF
SAE 85W/90 gear oil may be used in the T5OD transmission in very warm climates or if gear/bearing noise is excessive.

I'm guessing the T5 trans I picked up is a T5OD and I live in Illinois, so should i use the gear oil or the ATF?

Dont use gear oil. Somebody have that in our t5 and it ruined it. Ive got some GM Synchromesh to go back in it when we put it back in this week.
