Default Stroked Mustangs?

Ok so there is only a few things i could never put my opinion in because i really don't know much about them. Anything dealing with the ECU and STROKED(STROKING) whatever engines.

so if i sound stupid. bare with me please, but i did not have no idea you can stroke a mustang engine. what kind of difference does it make? and do you have to have any mods done to your engine before doing it? and hmm. any other information about them would be pretty cool.

you pick up about 40-50hp and ton of torque.

easy "stroke" is to a get 351W bottom end, cheaper and most everything is same.

and yes the computer will have to be recalibrated for extra displacement.

It just increases your displacement. Stroking a bone stock mustang will not do much. You are still very restricted by your heads/intake/etc.

so say if i want to stroke my engine. i would need to get some heads, intake, mostly alot of stuff to get my car breathing better? and how much does it cost to stroke a engine? actually if anybody could find a good "stroker" or brand(i have no idea what im saying) that could fit right onto my car send it please.

If anybody doesnt understand what im trying to say, i don't blame you

Well a there are two main places to start looking if you really want to buy a stroker motor. CHP and D.S.S. are the two best names out there for short blocks and long blocks. If you go to there websites they will show you a list of different stokes and styles of blocks. For your car it sounds like a 331 stroker motor would probably work best. This motor will allow the car to be streetable and not consume oil like many of the 347 strokers. These two motors are based on a 302 block, now you can update the block to its bigger brother which is a 351 windsor block. This block can be stroker up to a 417 stroker and puts out a ton of torque. HOwever it cost alot more. I hope this helps you out some.

you wont need to recalibrate your computer, as the mass air mustang computer will adapt and learn the changes you make.

a 351 bottom end WILL NOT WORK IN A 302
the "stroke" of an engine is the distance the piston travels up and down the cylinder.
a stroker motor just moves the piston down more, filling the chamber with more air and fuel.
the "bore" of a motor is the diameter of the piston.

a stock 5.0 motor has a 4 inch bore and a 3 inch stroke and a piston rod that is 5.090 inches long

the stroker motors all use a 5.4 inch rod.

a 327 stroker uses the stock bore of 4 inches, but the stroke is 3.25 inches.
a 331 stroker uses an overbored piston (4.030) and a 3.25 inch stroke
a 342 stroker uses a 4 inch bore and a 3.4 inch stroke
a 347 stroker uses a 4.030 bore and a 3.4 inch stroke.

some 347 strokers use a 5.3something rod to help with oil control.

I hope this helps you out.
