I need HELP prepping for paint!
I just recently put a new bumper on my 92 gt and i am starting the prep for paint today. Since the bumper is new and has no paint or clear, do i just give it a light scuff or what? What should i do to get it ready to paint? I know i have to go over all the clear everywhere else with 400 right? Anything else i should know??
O, ya i have some dents on the very top of my car by the sunroof and i have no idea how to get those out. I have tried to pop them out and it didnt work and i dont want to have to pay someone to get them out. Whats the best plan of action on those? thanks

Scuff up the front fascia with 400 grit. I wet sand it personally, you use less sandpaper. AS for the dents, unless you have the proper pulling tools you might be stuck with bondo. If theyre small dings youd use filler to smooth em anyway.

rubber bumper I assume, you need to add that flex agent or it will crack before you even have a chance to pull it out of the garage. I build motors not paint, but my uncle has been custom cars for decades so I know a bit about it, it's a rough job to paint and make it look good

theyre not small dings or anything, theyre big so i dk what i will do about those. As far as the bumper, ya i guess its plastic like the ground effects. I didnt know that i would have to add anything to the paint, i just assumed it would be ok. Do you know what that stuff is called? I dont want paint to be chipping a month after i paint it.

for the bumper, sand a little spot,if it sands black, you just have to scuff it,with a scuff pad,or 400 and above,if it dosn't sand black, its raw plastic, you have a few different steps to do..
-wash with special plastic cleaner
-scuff "very" lightly with scuff pad
-apply plastic adheasion promotor
-paint
