If its gear oil thats leaking from your diff it has a very distinct smell. Just rub a little on your finger and smell it. You'll know if that red stuff is gear oil or not. Yeah I know what I just said sounds stupid but its a sure way to know if it is or isn't.

Yeah it will stink! And if your sure its redline in there, then i know youll be able to smell it, its pretty smelly

they are all right....the best smell to describe it is a semi truck...very pungent.

Oh, I know the smell. And I stuffed my finger half way to my brain trying to smell the pink liquid. It had no real smell.
