wow... im dumb

alright im replacing my t-stat right now... i got it out and all but i have completly forgot what way it needs to be... should the spring be facing the engine or is it out...

LOL I understand completely almost got killed today so its not been good day here at all. I was working on a Dodge 3500 Diesel truck on the lift today and got out from under it and 20 seconds later the chain on the hydraulic ram breaks and truck falls lucky to be here tonight.
