I have just recently purchased a 1994 mustang gt, it comes with you probably know the well reknowned 302 5.0L v-8 the car has 160,000 miles on it, but, seems to run great. Do you think that the car should be left the way it is, or is it safe to mod it a bit?

what types of mods did you have in mind, what kind of condition is the car in overall, and how long do you plan to keep it?

my car has more miles than that. but runs great. the reason is the original owner who had it before me drove a lot on the highway and never "beat" it so the miles were easy. i think its safe to mod.

theres a few things to look for i think. does it burn oil, does it have good oil pressure. maybe a few more things.

It's in great condition for being 12 years old, a few minor paint chips, but the oil pressure holds well, I've spotted no leaks and no squeaking sound of any kind when it's started, idling, revving. I plan on keeping it for at least 5 more years, if I can. I want to put a new exhaust on it, a new intake, and basically minor upgrades but enough to hit at least 250hp.

im sure your safe to do that. 302 engines are very good engines.
