I got a 1985 mustang gt,I baught the stang with no smog equimpment,I used it for drag racing for a while now and want to turn it in to a street car.Because they are closing down my local track.

anyway I am going to buy a new smog pump here pretty quick,and I need advice on how to hook it up and where to put the hoses at,also I am puting on cats that dont have the air tubes in them.

if you don't have the tube on the h-pipe, you'll need to weld one in.

it's really basic putting it back in, you'll need the pump, the vac stuff, the egr stuff ......i'll try to take a pic, i just pulled mine off over the winter and still sitting in my garage.

y-pipe to back of heads , thats about al i can think of.

lol...yeah that would be true. but states like cali have a viz inspection. every 2 years.

Hate to tell you guys this but the reason that I'm doing this because this guy came up to me today and asked me If I wanted to trade cars,I go what kind of car is it,he says a 1957 chevy 2dr post 250.looks exactly like a 57 chevy bel-air. so I said can I check it out,so turns out the car is all original,paint,down to hub caps,has i-6 3 on the floor so I said yes.but he wants the smog crap so he can get it registered.

so I can put a Y pipe after the headers,then put the cat afer the y pipe.
as for the smog pump can I just run a hose from the pump to befor the cat or what?
