My car is finally ready for paint so now i have to buy some. I am looking for white and was told i need an acrylic enamel and some clear coat. From everyones experience, where are some places to buy paint and what is the best? What makes one better than the other. O ya, same question for the clear coat too. How much should i expect to spend?

yeah go to your local automotive paint store, they'll answer anythign you want to know

you want a nice small automotive paint store, look in the yellow pages.

acrylic enamle is decent middle of the road paint
urethane's are better, but cost more.
2 stage with base coat and clear is the way to go.

Go in and talk to the guys at the paint shop. Tell'm what you're
doing, what you expect out of it and what your budget is.

They will try and sell you what ever brand they are dealer for, but they're
all about the same these days. I always considered Emron the best
but PPG makes a good product too.

basically you get what you pay for, dont cheap out on cheap paint
spend the extra dollars, it will pay for itself in the long run with
fewer chips and less fading.
also make sure you get a flex additive for the bumpers.

Used Sikkens. It dominates PPG, and Dupont. Use urethane base clear. Your looking at around 700-900 for Sikkens but its worth it trust me.

look up finishmasters they carry dupont also like said above ppg does make some great paint but there omni line works great also and will save u alot of money! or u can go dupont and there encono line works great also its called nason. and r+m is a great paint line from basf like they use on dream car garage the clear is super think and lays out real nice and is extremely easy to buff!!!but the down side to the rm clear is its about 350$ for a gallon but u could go with nason base and rm clear it works great!!!!

ya, thanks for the help jacka$$. Ok, i guess i will check my local shops. I just figured theyre was somewhere i could order online. I cant believe a gallon of paint can be 300 or 40o bucks. [sm=jawdrop.gif] damn!

Sikkens is good stuff. We sell it at my store. It is pricey. They have cheaper lines in Lesonal and U-tech which is still good stuff.
