Default 2 1/2' or 3' ?

As of right now I've got 2 1/2' tips on the back of my h pipe and flowmasters....should I change to 3' tips? Will I notice any difference in anything? sound change?

man i work at an exhaust shop and i would suggest not to have tail pipes. i got 3" from my headers back to my mufflers. i even got a 3" x pipe on it too. mine is turn downs too. My opinion is that the best sound and flow your ever gonna get out of a 5.0 mustang. but ya its up to you tips anit gonna really change anything except for looks.

3 inch tips will be louder. weve got a '71 GMC Sprint ( an el camino pretty much ) and we put 3" tips on it and it made a noticeable difference. especially if your behind it.
