Another speedo gear thread. :-)
I just did an AOD swap to T5. I need some help with the right speedo gear.
The car is an 87 AOD and I swapped in a 92~93 V8 T5.
I have stock rear end and plan to stay that way for now.
The gear that came outta the AOD is a dark blue one with a long shaft on it.
Any ideas on which one I need to get? Do I also have to get the other gear as well? I've looked up some of the charts but they don't quite make sense to me.
TIA,
Mark

You'll need to get a speedo gear that matches up to your gear ratio. So if your rearend has 3.55's in it your going to need the 21 tooth white gear in there, for example (if the tranny is between 90-93 that is)

Well crap, I am lost. I don't see the 21 tooth white gear comment matching up with that chart...
I assume that my rear is 3.27 for stock 87 AOD car. That would make it a 21 tooth red gear that I need; right?
And if I get a shorter rear end I'd need to change the drive gear as well, no? For example, if I did 3.73's, I'd need a 7T, 21T setup?

Not sure wether its the stock gear or not but when I took one out of our 93 it was a brown gear. It had about 9 teeth I think. Not sure what rear gear came in the car (dont have the door sticker).
