i agree. if you were to change the efi to carb it wouldn't pass inspection.

Fuel injection has more power and better mileage tho (generally speaking)
I wouldn't really agree with the first part of that. The second part,,who buys a "performance" car for gas milage?
Hey, its generally speaking alright?! [sm=smiley36.gif]

The one thing that I've noticed about the 5.0s is that when you rev them, they are a LOT slower to come down to 750 rpms or so than a carbed car. I'd love to have a carbed car, but I'll deal with this EFI stuff for now, it's got it's good points and bad.

long live the holley, its never going away and the carburetor tech advancements is amazing, we can debate this till the cows come home but carbs atomize fuel very well. I will run a carb till I die. 2 of them in fact on a tunnel ram shifting at 7500+ Any dummy can hook up a tuner to a car and dial some crap in, it takes an artist to make a carb work and work well. i agree carbs are great, but you try tuning with a tweecer, not nearly as easy as you'd think. a carb is much simpler, and if you think about it, thats why they're better. don't believe me? read this: http://fordfuelinjection.com/files/GUFB.pdf

well like they all said, carbs are better. BUT with efi you get a little better gas mileage, its easy to tune if you use one of those programmers, and the throttle response can be a little better. no offense to any of the auto guys out there, but definitely look for a 5 speed. 351 is a step up from a carbed 302. maybe a couple steps

AMEN BROTHER! I LOVE THEM CARBS!

Anyways, ITS EASY AS HELL TO CONVERT. Heres what youll need to convert an 86-93 to a carb. Youll need the carb, an intake, and a throttle linkage off of an 85 GT 5-spd, make sure its the 5spd because the 85 autos had CFI. Your distributor will work just fine because the ignition module is mounted to it. Then basically bolt on your carb stuff on, set the timing to 13degrees, and off you go. And by the way youll have to remove your check engine light......right along with the shift light (hate that thing, its ALWAYS on).
