the 400 suprisingly can be worked, the truck pull guys love them, the heads and the intake are the problem, the piston is about a foot in the hole from the factory lol. Tim is doing some awesome 400 stuff now http://www.tmeyerinc.com/400stroker.html

see i heard these were "boat anchors"....i will admit i have never had a problem with the motor,just carb<they do suck!...other than a few drips....it will rip it up in the mud though.

so where do i find those heads?...he did make good numbers,but i want more tq!!!...

if you were to stay with the 400, i would get that piston as to close to 0 deck and use an iron aussie 2v closed chamber cleveland head and a good dual plane intake. The 400 is a torque monster when done right. http://www.chiheads.com/ bend over, but chi makes a killer product. Kaase used em in 04 on his engine masters winning cleveland

well what my plan was keep this truck running find a 460 and build it up...considering 400's will keep going,and going,and going.
