Default maf ??

I heard that the maf sensor has to be bolted down on the bracket or else it wont properly work. I switched mine over to maf and i dont have the bracket that hold the maf and was wondering if this would effect anything?

I'm really curious to know who these people are that start all these rumors about maf's. There's a tube that measures the air going through it, don't see how not having a bracket or having bends before it would make a difference.

That whole thing about the bends has come up a couple times and I thought that was snuffed out and now comes this one.
