Why would they give you a hard time about your undercarraige being dirty?

 

thanks for the advice. I'll make sure I do a good job. That will be a odd job washing the bottom of my car. They want no dirt under the car because of pests in the dirt. The first info I got said I needed a steam cleaning certificiate! haah. I got more info and It just needs to be clean.

 

If your car was built in the U.S. im pretty sure you're home free... You need not call EPA or DOT... DHS enforces their laws on imports/reimports. Just call any customs port (Customs & Border Enforcement office, of DHS) and explain what youre doing an that you would like to get a number for an import specialist who handles vehicles.
