important...please HELP
I am importing my mustang to USA from europe. All cars built in USA and intended to be registered there have a lable on the engion compartment stating the vechical meets all the usa emission requirements. The only lable I found was behind the windshield washer fluid container. The lable is titled "vechical emmision control information" and states "equipt with electronic fuel injection" Also states info about ignition timing. I don't think this is the lable I am looking for. Do any of you know where this lable should be located? A photo would be ideal. Much appriciated... It could be coastly if my car dosn't have this lable.

Where was your car built? The label i believe youre referring to is the EPA sticker. I dont recall the law anymore, but there some provision that will allow your car to be imported depending on age an mileage. Check with DHS... Youll ultimately want to talk with an import specialist...

I got a lot of information off the internet. I will call the Dot's or EPA hotline to try to get a number to the USA customs regarding documentation I need. Any car over 25 years dosn't need to have the DOT lable and EPA. I got the DOT on my door it's the emissions lable on the engion compartment that I possible have found but doubt it. Any question regarding the import is the Gas guzzler Tax. Any car that has less than combined urban/highway miles per gallon of 22.5 have to pay this tax. What does a stock 5.0 fox have for combined urban/highwawy gas millage? I am sure you guys no about this gas guzzler tax?

If the sticker you found is like.....
....it's the only one that id's the car as EPA compliant with emissions regulations for the year of manufacture. I don't think current regulations for brand new cars are applicable.........

I have never heard a solid answer because every has a differnt meaning of "driving like an old woman". I would say the average is prob around 18/2X for a mostly stock 5.0 <------ Im going to check my 93 5.0 (all stock down to the air silencer) this week. It should be interesting to watch it decrease as time goes on

Thanks so much!! Thats the one I got. The info just says "vehicles that meet all U.S. emission requirements will bear manufacturer's label on the engine compartment in English, attesting to that fact." I didn't think that was the lable but if thats the only one regarding emmisions in your car them I am good to go! The only fee I think I have to pay is the gas guzzler tax. Do you pay this tax?
