Default fuel gauge

hello i just bought a blue 88 notch. i first came on here to introduce my self but secondly need some advice i have tried searching but no luck. my fuel gauge in the car does not work. can someone give me some advice of where to start to look to see what the problem is. thanks alot

probably the sending unit in the tank, Fox's are notorious for them going out.

Use the following diagram extract....Courtesy of TMoss and Veryuseful.com



You would have to do a resistors check by splicing a 145 ohm resistor to the yellow/wht wire, and shorting the other end of the resistor to a good ground....turn ign on and the gauge should read "Full".....if it does, the sender needs to be replaced, if not the "anti-slosh" module might need to be replaced



....this is a module that goes inserted or bolted-on to the instrument panel module. Hope this helps

Yes, I would check your sending unit. I can tell you that from experience. Otherwise just fill every 220-240 miles. I had that too, it would only register when it was full - the 1/2 way mark.
