Default Broken Headlight Switch & Rattly Hatch

Hey, i bought an 89 LX 5.0 about a month ago. About half an hour ago i got home, took my keys out of the ignition and hit the switch to turn off my headlights, and the switch wouldnt pull back. It was jammed or somthin, so i took the little cover piece off, couldnt figure out why it wasnt working, got pissed off and punched it. Well, the switch went back, the lights turned off. Then, to see if that actually fixed it, i flipped them back on, and again, it stuck. After another 20 min of messing with it i got them to turn off. Does anyone know whats wrong with it or how to fix it? Do i just have to clean it out or do i have to buy something. God i hope its cheap if i do have to buy somthing, cuz im poor and trying to save for 4.10's.

Next problem....the hatch. It has given me nothing but problems since i bought the car. First it wouldnt lock right, then the pieces that held it open had to get replaced. Now i noticed that the hatch is about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch off center. It is slightly hanging over the side on the right, and slightly in on the left. Also, when im driving that thing makes a HELL of a lot of noise. I had a 93 hatch a few years ago and it didnt make anywhere near this much noise. It might just be because the hatch is off center, so ill worry about fixing that first and see if it still hattles a lot. LMK if anyone has any ideas for any of these. Thanks

Try realinging the hatch. As far the switch Its say take it out and give it a good cleaning. If it doesnt work try taking it apart and see if anything look abonormal. Then if all else fails get a new switch.

you obviously need a new switch????

as for your hatch, take the cover off that is below the hinges. loosen the 2 bolts and re align it. then use a hex socket to adjust the striker and your good.

the plastic is probably missing from around the hatch striker common problem
fix is to buy a new one from a parts hoise or u can go to the help section and buy the ford striker bushing package like 3 bucks the washer will not come off the bolt so take a razor and split the bushing down the center spread it open and slid it over now the next problem is itss not tall enough so take another from the pack and cut it in half and then split it down the center and slide over the striker now u can adjust the hatch!
