Default spider gears

having problems, i have a 94 5.0, had a bad wheel seal. i replaced both of them. I have the whole rear put back together other than the spider gears anyone know any tricks to get these things straight? i tried for about 5 hours last nite and i need the car for the mornin! thanks any help is appreciated! Bob

your still working on that?
it is easiest to just take out the carrier, and do it when its right in front of you.

isnt there shims that hafto go back the same exact way they came out? i have no idea whats going to happen? are they spring loaded? will they fall out or do they have holes in them? is it self explanitory?

I always just line them up 90* and slide the pinion shaft through to make sure they are straight. pull the shaft back ou hold them in place and spin them around maybe 45 degrees, slide the little shims in there and go the rest of the way. 8.8s are one of the easier ones to deal with.
