I want to put a 392 in my car but I need some advise, ford racing has a turnkey 392 with 430hp and 450 ft./lbs. of torque for about 8400 bucks. My question is, would it be cheaper to buy a 351 and stroke it or should I just buy the turnkey. could i make the same power for less money?

 

personally i would build the engine myself
it would save a lot of money.
but thats just me.

4.030 351w bore, 300 dollar 3.85 crank, stock 351w rod, stock pin height 302 piston =393

 

here better yet, I will build you a 393 that makess 600 at the crank and deliver it to your door for 8400

 

about how much am i looking at for the whole build

Oh what I could put together for 8k makes those crate motors look like toys, also remember now that Ford is farming out the building of their crate motors to the lowest bidder. No more assembly line building of these.
