No dash lights

RE: No dash lights
I got the same problem. I had a blown fuse but replacing it didn't help. I haven't got around to digging into it and finding out what's wrong. Mine went out when I nailed it at 35 and the rearend started hopping. It shook the dash and ever since I've had no lights. Only the flip down map light.

my AOD is stamped metric on the bottom of the pan and this means it was assembled with metric sized fasteners so you need metric wrenches to work on it.
try replacing the fuse for the dash cluster lights and then move the dimmer control back and forth some to clean off the corrosion on it which may be keeping the lights from shining like they should. you might also try spraying some electrical contact cleaner on the dimmer switch to clean up the contacts also. if none of this works, you need to pull the dash cover off the cluster and remove it and make sure the two plugs on the back of it are installed and tightly plugged in.

Allright, checked fuses, cleaned dimmer switch then took dash apart. On the dimmer switch using a ohm meter Ican get it to contact and work when I turn the switch to turn on the intirior lights but when I turn off the intirior lights there is no contact, should there be?

RE: No dash lights
with the headlight switch in the on position, there should be a voltage present on the dimmer switch as the current for the dash lights goes through this switch on the way to the dash light. when you go to the position that turns on the interior light, you are bypassing the resistance coil in the switch, so it could be the coil is burnt out not allowing any current to flow to the lights. try putting a jumper around the coil and see if the dash lights come on, if yes, then the coil is bad and you need a new dimmer switch.
