Default Starting Issue

1988 5.0 Mustang. It drives great and no problems when it runs. However when I drive it for a while sometimes or drive it hard, I'll turn it off, come back out, turn it on and it'll start right up but then kind of "Chugs" instantly like it's not getting fuel or losing cylinders. Then it'll die, it won't start for a while or when it does it'll have the same symptoms. If I let it sit for 20-30 minutes, and then start it again, it fires right up like nothing happened. I've replaced the coil, distributer cap, plugs, plug wires all recently. Fuel Pump, filter, and line was replaced about 5k miles ago. I'm not sure what it could be and any insight would be great...Thanks ahead of time.

I know mine is not a 5.0.. I have an 01 GT and it does the exact same thing! It's damned embarrassing at times! I have to sit there and wait until it decides to run. I wonder if there is something in common?

Timing is good, I've heard of the TFI module but wasn't too sure if it could be the reason.

Cheap to replace, code reader is your best bet should tell you if anything is out of order.
