Default a/c clutch problem?

Last summer i changed from r12 to 134. while doing so i got a new compressor and clutch. now when i go to use my ac the clutch is not engaging. it was brand new last year. could it have gon out already or is it maybe an electrical problem????????

Way OT but did you buy the compressor new? How much did it cost you?

You probably leaked off all the refrigerant. Did you or a shop convert it?

Sounds like a refridgerant leak

Did you do the change over, or a shop? If you did the change over, did you get a new accumulator/drier? Did you drain/flush out all the R12 oil? Did you add the proper amount of new oil?

if not, there's your problem. You burned out your compressor.

could be low on refrigerant, could be that a pressure switch popped. could also be that the clutch gap between the compresser pulley and the clutch is too big, and the coil behind the pulley wont pull the clutch in. or just a bad coil.
