Default tokico hp vs lakewood 50/50

I had the tokico hp on my 91 coupe and I was getting a lot of wheel spin in second and third gear. I went and bought a set of lakewood 50/50's and installed them. I got the same if not more wheel spin. I thought the lakewoods would make a difference being that they are more for strait line then the tokicos. I did keep the tokico hp struts up front could that be the problem? Should I put the tokicos back in or go with the lakewoods all the way around? Thanks, for the help.

what do you have for suspension? takes more then just shocks to put the power down. also, what tires are you running?

i think you'd have had better luck putting the lakewood struts in, and leaving the hp shocks in back. get traction by transfering weight, but you can't do that with stiff springs and struts in front. lucky13 is right. you need the whole package: drag struts/shocks/springs. would be a good idea to remove the swaybar too, and control arms always help. tires are probably the most important aspect of hooking up.

I have Steeda upper and lower controling arms, and springs. I guess I will go with the lakewood 70/30 set up. Thanks for the help.

When I put in the lakewoods I reused the bushings from the tokico's. The ones that came with the lakewoods looked too small for the upper mounting point. Any thoughts?
