Default Overheating on my uncles car

my uncle has a 289 bored to a 302 and it keeps getting really hot (64 and 1/2)

hes already bought a new aluminum radiator, replaced thermostat, drilled holes in it,

checked timing, had hydrocarbon test which was okay, installed electric pusher fan,

has mechanical six bladed flex fan, and has the right anti-freeze mixture

any ideas?

thanx

he said he hasnt, but he wants to know how to do this

he had a 180 thermostat but it still overheated

changed it to a new 180 thermostat, took it to a mechanic

and the mechanic put a 160 thermostat in it and it still overheats

Take the radiator cap off (When the car is not hot!) and run the car for about 10 min. The air will perge itself out. Refill to top it off.

yep. just let it run with no cap and itll burp the air out. some people even jack the front end up so the air will raise to the highest point, being the radiator filler neck.
