shift kit install

RE: shift kit install
It depends on which kit. For the most part they eliminate sloppiness, give firmer shifts, and extend the life of the trans. Alot of that is accomplished by reducing slippage and overlap, both of which cause excessive heat and wear.

i think it also has to do alot with pressure distribution inside the trans. When drilling holes and whatnot in the valvebody, it reroutes fluid which basically takes a higher amount of pressure for it to make the gear switch. Enabling the driver to switch through the gears manually rather than it shifting at a certain rpms

You can't manually shift an AOD without a manual valve body. When I was driving the vert as my daily driver it was weird because under WOT it wouldn't shift until i lifted my foot off the gas for a quick second. But damn that **** shifted HARD, I'd like to take it out of the vert and put it in the hatch.

It was okay, I'd reccomend putting it on a lift and doing it though, I did it on the floor of my garage with 2 jackstands and it was a PITA trying to get the plunger with the new spring in there. But otherwise, yeah, it went pretty smooth.
