My best friend has a nasty riced out gold colored sunfire . i mean nasty in a "eww what the h*** is thatthing" kind of way.I had never owned anything other than a 4cyl 1986 Ranger and my former 4cyl 1991 Notchback Mustang , which are both miserably slow. So when i first rode in it i thought it was kinda fast. But he would wind the gears out till it sounded like a weed eater about to explode. Plus it had the loud obnoxious gurgling fart sound we have all grown to hate. Not a powerful low toned v8 sound , just a loud nasty groaning fart sound of an 4 cyl engine that probably wishes someone would shoot it and put it out of it's freaking misery. Anyway ,now i got him and my other friend Michael ( Riced out ZX2) breathing down my neck talking about kicking my stangs a$$ even after my swap is done. I swear ricers pick fights even when they know they are going to lose , because they'll just make an excuse as to why they lost , or throw in a comment about their future "mods" that will make their car so incredibly fast that you'll be sorry to have raced them. insert your comment about NOS or Super terminator viper black widow ultraexhaust system hear. Haha , the funny thing is I bet that really is the name of an exhaust system for a Civic , or Cavalier or something</P>

The Camaro RS (early 90's) had the 305 V8. Peice of s**t. Don't get 'em.

You'd be MUCH happier having a 350 auto, or a newer 3.8 V6 stick (turbo the bitch!).

i think i'de have to agree with dred about the ford vs chevy guys. two old enemies can be made allies when they are faced with a common enemy much more annoying. i have great respect for the big chevy engines, like the ls1 or a 454. i even almost bought an 01 ss camaro. but after driving my stang, i know where im staying <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P>

Your right the 305 is a dog,had a 91RS with the TBI.My wifes 96 bird with 3.8 is much faster than that POS was.

Ya, I have respect for chevy boys. But my friends dad has a camaro from the late 80's or early 90's. My firend wont stop giving me s**t about my dads 02' stang, talking about how its junker and mustang r s**t and all this stuff. he talks a LOT of s**t. but his car is really a PO f**king S! so i wanted to race him, and shut him (even if his car could beat mine, he cant race, so i was good). But then his dumb *** sister crashed the camaro, so i cant race him. but thats what got me on the subject of mustang vs. camaro</P>

I didnt read the entire post but you could never get a manual behind a 350 in a thirdgen camaro. The l98 (350 TPI) put out 345lbs torque and the weak t5 could not support it. </P>


The lb9 (305 TPI) had two options. One option was 220hp and over 300lbs torque. With a 5 speed they would get decent numbers and almost run with the l98 cars. The rest of the 305s in GMs line up sucked. My car used to be a l03 (305 TBI) they are junk. Run good and run along time but slow. A lb9 in good working order could probably give alot of stock foxs a run..depends on milage of both cars, condition, maintnance, drivers ect. </P>


I love my thirdgen. Its great because I live in a mustang town. And since the motor swap I have outran my share of mustangs. They all talk so much crap to...because they think thirdgens are slow <IMG src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0"></P>
