Quad shocks, leave them off?

Quad shocks, leave them off?
My 85 GT has a thunderbird turbo coupe rear end with discs. From what I have read, you can redrill the mounting points on the thunderbird rear axle 2 inches lower and the quad shocks fit back on. I was planning on doing this. I just installed all new suspension, including summit tubular rear control arms. In the instructions they suggest leaving the quad shocks off for better traction and handling. I thought these things were supposed to help traction and handling? The car seems fine, but I'm still wondering if I should put them back on or not. This is a street car, i'm more interested in handling than drag racing.

RE: Quad shocks, leave them off?
quad shocks are there to make up for the short fallings of
the cheap rubber bushings in the control arms.
If you have aftermarket control arms with urethane bushings
you dont need the quad shocks.
They were fords answer to help with axle rotation or "wheel hop"
from weak control arms and bushings.
