if it were me with a dart block i would have the main's line bored as well as the cylinders checked as they may need to be bored with your new pistons. the block is over 2 grand delivered with another 250-350 on machine work needing to be done. if you are going to be making crazy power levels its needed (as i have seen a few 302's and 351's crack) so its up to you. i would say get a 351 block and shoot for low 9's on the bottle as its pretty easy with 175 hit. the 302 blocks are weak though, i advise anything more than 550 hp (crank) you look away from a production 302 block and go with a mexican or r302. thats pretty easy to achieve with decent heads, intake, cam, and a mild turbo setup.

yes they are not bored. you have to bore them for a stock 302 piston even.

do dart blocks need any machine work done prior to assembly?

I am just wanting something to get me into the 10 second range.
the dart 347 will hold as much power I can throw at it, so I was thinking of this and a wet nitrous kit with a 400 shot.
