I'm looking to get an '86 GT in the next month or so; I've always liked the square headlight foxes and '86 is the first year for EFI...best of both worlds for me (t-tops too!). I've pretty much made up my mind, but I've searched around and can't find on the net whether or not the '86 GT's came with the great 8.8 posi stangs after 1986 were equipped with. I already know I'll be swapping from Speed Density to Mass Air, but I'd like to know I don't have to swap the rear end. Can anyone help out with a little info?

 

Get her! Yes, I too like the four eyes, yet they look so sweet with headlight covers. My 86 is all original except for exhaust and it has the 8.8, first year for this, EFI, and a lot of things, like double hump cross member, etc.

 

Yea 86HOGT is right. Them 86's have been getting really popular over the last few years.

The square lights are the best. I have an 86 and 85. They are sweet looking cars when they are shined up. The 86 is all original with only 63000 on the odometer. one sweet ride.

I believe it's 20 years for cars, 30 for trucks. 30 years to be smog exempt from California. Got a ways yet.
