Stock blocks can take their fair share of mods. Running mid-10s isn't as easy as some people make it sound. You click off some 10.50s in a street car and you're definately doing something right. I have some fairly well experienced friends (which sounds kind of dumb when I just said they are all still playing around with stock shortblocks).
Not to mention knowing if that car comes back from the run in any different condition than it started the run....your going to get a boot in your *** from the old man....

There's a guy in my town w/ a bad *** 4-eyed beast...he runs constant 10.0X's Stock block (306) and Ford Prod. Heads w/ a 150 hp shot of nitrous... He's actually havin a little 'competition' w/ one of his buddies who has a 351 and runs 9.9X's....he said once he beats his friend....he's throwin this motor out and buidlin up a 351 to run low 9's-high 8s...He does all his own work and he's only in his early 20's..he's a damn genius...lol
