Bad vibration at 1000 and high RPM
My '95 GT stock vert started vibrating badly at 1000 RPMs and then over 3500, so i took it to the shop for a tune up, but when i picked it up, vibration is still there, the guy at the shop says maybe the damper shifted and that causes the engine to vibrate, but the weird thing is that below 1000 and between 1100 and 3500 it desnĀ“t vibrate at all.
Any suggestions?

RE: Bad vibration at 1000 and high RPM
I'd look into the balancer (dampner) first, flywheels are a solid piece of steel. Your dampner has a rubber insulator ring in it, thats why it can shift. The easiest way to check that is with a timing light - just unplug your spout connector and see what its showing your initial timing to be. Stock is 10*, and thats where it should be unless you've bumped it up - then you'd know where it is. Of course - no way its higher that 15*, so if it doesnt fall in that range then you know what you need to replace. It could still be a major engine problem, but thats where to start (and hope it ends)
