Just wondering if any of you carb guys can give me a hint or where to begin when learning how to tune a carb. I want to learn how to tune my new holley but dont really know where to begin. Are there any good books or websites that you guys can recommend? Thanks for the help.

Yep, good book, you need to buy it.

if you got a 302 or something along those lines, a 600cfm carb is more than enough carb for it.

Its a holley 650cfm with an electric choke. I decided to go with a 650 in anticipation of heads and a cam in a few months. And thanks for the website 2 kwik. No i do not have a vacum gauge.

Connect your vacum gauge and then begin to tune your carb (by opening and closing the needles) do them one at a time and go back and do it again untill you have the highest vacum possible. then once finished adjust your timing and do it again.
