Default F*ckety shi*t F*ck!!!!

okay fellas. I was driving home from a nice visit to the junk yard and I push in my clutch and I hear this "Crack *ratcheting soudn ratcheting sound*" And My pedal was almost at the floor. I was able to get it in gear for a little bit longer, but then it toally broke and just goes "crack...Crack" And then comes back up again.

So what do you guys think it is. I can't really tell as of now, and I'm already really late for work so I'll have to look at it tonight. Is it just the quadrant that broke? Or is it the entire cable? My guess is the quadrant (which would be good for me considering I already have a steeda quadrant in my glove box but I didn't feel like messing with....maybe I should have)

why don't you stick your head under there and look? the quadrant is held on by a nut... remove it and pull the old one off and install the new one. But if I had to guess... I'ld say cable.... that's what happened to my truck when that cable went (it had a mustang pedal assembly in it with a mustang cable and quadrant....)

Its the clutch quadrant that broke, mine did the exact same thing with the ratcheting sound and everything. Get a new quadrant and you'll be good to go. Might as well get a new cable too while your at it. It will take a lot of patience to change, BBK suggests taking out the front seat so you can lay on your back with your head in the pedals basically, to change it.

The quadrant is over the gas pedal not the clutch. Maybe that's why you didn't see it.
