Look, heres a good way to do it. Empty your gas tank, then put 1 gallon of gasoline in it, fill a milk jug up and poor it into the gas tank. Then drive the car till your out of gas. Try to stay away from traffic areas. But keep a gas jug in your car full so you can fill it up when your out and when you start, reset your odometer. There you go, that should tell you how far you can go on 1 gallon of gasoline.

 

 

+1 on the regulator and the gauge, I got an aeromotive fpr from summit for like $120... then the liquid filled pressure gauge was like $16... make shure you ask for a schrader valve auto meter adapter, there $8... good luck!

Why not fill it up, reset the odometer, drive it a couple of days, refill it up, check how many miles you've driven from the odometer. Divide the number of gallons you refilled with into the number of miles driven. This should give you a pretty good estimate.

 

fill your tank... drive 20 miles... then go fill it again.. simple as that divide the miles by how much gas you had to put in it..

3mpg is rediculous is that even possible... did you know for sure that your tank was full ... ?

 

A Hemi Cuda with double stromburgs gets about 5mpg....so....i would imagine stomping the gas in that thing would equal like 1 mpg.

I did it. I got 15miles before i ran out in normal driving at about 45mph, i didnt over heat and my fuel pump is still a pumpin away. Doing it once aint gonna hurt anything. I cant even being to tell ya how many times ive ran out of gas in my Explorer, probably 10 times in the last year...my fuel float is broken and i couldnt figure out how many miles i could go on a tank, im to lazy to tear the tank out and replace it. But its got the stock FP and about 138,000 miles on it. Still a pumpin also.
