OH NO!

RE: OH NO!
The angle will not cause a whine condition just a vibration.
And it is somewhat normal for them to develope a little bit of a whine if they were set up on the loose side of the tolerances. As they develope a wear pattern the clearances change thus creating a whine. Its best to set them up on the tight side of the tolerances to allow for some change because it will never get tighter just losser. Good luck on getting them quitened down should be a simple fix if the guy has the right tools to measure the pinion depth. I would be willing to be thats where the problem is and its to shallow or deep and walking off the toe or heel of the ring gear causing the whine sound.

RE: OH NO!
i just put in my 3.73's 2 weeks ago and you couldnt even tell they were replaced, sound wise. i was told to always go with ford racing when it came to gears because they're cut better to insure no noise if installed properly.

RE: OH NO!
he was pretty cool about it, and he has every tool you could think of, including the dial indicator to check it out. other that the slight whine @ 40, i love em. it feels so much faster. ill let everyone know how it goes tomorrow.
