Default bad clunking noise

Maybe you guys can help me. I'm getting a loud metal to metal clunking noise from the rear passenger's side of my 94 gt. It makes this noise over every little bump. It is driving me insane. So far I have put in new bbk progressive springs, gms adjustable u/l control arms, agx shocks, and new bushings in the rear axle. Has anyone else had this problem with the gms control arms? About the last thing I can possibly think of is that the bottom of the rear springs are binding on those tall spring cups. It is not the exhaust banging around because I am running dumps and the mufflers are good to go. Please help!!!!

probably a ripped torque box or a worn out control arm bushing.

Or it could be an exhaust pipe tapping the floor pan/ rear end coming up and hitting it. Etc.

You best bet is to get under there look around.

Good luck

the control arms and bushings are all brand new, and its not the exhaust because i dont have any tail pipes and the mufflers are secure. I've looked everything over a few times and it all looks good. it blows my mind! Would a ripped torque box be easy to see, or no? Thanks for the help.

yea, you know where the control arms tie into the chassis? Just look around that area for any metal fitigue, rips, distortion, that kinda thing.

Ok then..Umm, quad shocks. Most likely a worn out shock. Ive had em wear out and clunk on me like that now that i think way back....Man, i almsot forgot about that, that would be the most likely thing

Dummy me forgot about that.

How old are you shocks? Cause they'll clunk when worn out.

The rear shocks have about 2 miles on them, so I know its not those. I'll pull the quad shocks and check them out. I had just replaced them a couple of years ago, but they're cheapies, maybe they **** to bed. Even though the noise sounds like a metal to metal sound, Ill still check them out, it cant hurt. Thanks 88stangaruu for all the idears.
